This first tune was picked up in Chicago from piper Jim Maguire while on a De Danann tour of the United States in the 1980s. It would seem to be a version of Rochford’s Polka, which can also be heard on the present recording. The second tune is a well known Sliabh Luachra slide. Brosna, situated in the northern part of Sliabh Luachra, was home to the famed fiddle player Con Curtin who spent many years playing great music in the city of London.
