Two different styles of waltz, the first was improvised by Rowan while crossing the River Shannon.The second was popular among musicians in the Northern Burren area of County Clare at the end of the last century. It can also be found in the repertoires of uilleann pipers Seamus Ennis and Willie Clancy.
A lot of the sets on this recording were put together on a short tour we did last year, travelling over the Burren from Miltown Malbay to Kinvara, so it seemed appropriate to take the name of the last waltz as our album title.
